Yes I am Mean

Balls had her first basket ball game last friday night. I must admit I was a tidge bored watching basket ball after so much water polo. Anyways, Molls is on varsity this year. She had a great game. At half time the athletic director came over to chat it up with Matt and made a joke about starting to charge us for all the time Molly spends in the trainers office healing her wounds. Ha Ha we said...so funny... as if we haven't spent the big bucks already fixing her up from last years season.

This is what Molly looked like at the beginning of the 4th quarter...

And this my friends is what she looked like by the end of the 4th quarter.
Tragic.
Poor dear. Her teammate threw her a pass that was a smidge too high. Molly jumped for it and when she landed she apparently forgot you have to put your feet down first. She landed right on her knee. Everyone in the gym heard it. Sweet. Matt and I rushed down to the trainers office to find the poor little soul. When we got there Molls was grimacing in pain while the physical therapist twisted and prodded her poor little knee cap. I had to leave the room. It was very sad. Once I gained my composure and Molly stopped crying I did what every good mother would do. I asked the trainers to move over so I could get a picture for my blog. They stared at me like I was crazy. I said I needed it to document. Blogs are very important you see. While Molly was fussing about not wanting to be on my blog when she looked so horrendous, I explained to her that it was my journal and she shouldn't sass me about such things. Plus, I told her, you will look rad and then you can tell your kids how ferocious you were. Then she rolled her eyes at me because she gets embarrassed when I talk like that.

Come on my little hobalong...that's what I have had to say ten mill times since then.

And if any of you doubted how awesome of a sister I am I went right away to the movie store and rented John Tucker Must Die from the grumpiest movie lady that's ever existed and then waited on her hand and foot for the whole weekend...partly because I love her and partly because it takes an incredibly long time for an injured to make an egg sandwich.

As Always...It's Been Awhile

This is a ridiculously vain picture update of all the awesome things we have been doing.

Molly is growing up these days...kind of sad. This is her and Matt before Homecoming...once again I wish I could chop her hair off and glue it on my head. Bummer.

This is Molly's date Adam...her and B-ryce broke up earlier this year. Gasp. They drove all the way from Albany to make it home for homecoming just so they could see all the nasty kids grinding on the dance floor. What gems.

In November Molly's H2O team made it to the state playoffs. She rocked as usual.

Fierce.

Overall the girls took 3rd. Way to go Grizz!
Molly got an award for 2nd team all state. If I played sports I might be able to understand what exactly that means. Maybe in my next life.
I am trying to compromise with Matt about having a tv in our room so I moved it to Molly's room...we have had quite a few movie nights since then. I am getting over tv in my bedroom withdrawals slowly but surely.

Molly is now a real live driver. I know. Scary. I don't know what is scarier that she is old enough to drive or that I have to ride with her when she does. It might give you some peace of mind to know she got 100% on her driving test and you better believe she reminds me of that everytime I try to boss her in the car...who is this girl?
Matt spent his Turkey day break painting our bedroom. I will have to unveil the final project just as soon as its done. Don't hold your breath.
Matt's favorite day: Turkey Bowl
I wanted Molly to be in my "look what we got on black friday" picture but she refused. I had to pretend. Rad boots huh?

Christmas tree hunting in my rad boots.

Matt and Molly picked the tree because I was driving everyone, including the helper boy, crazy with my indecisiveness.

Dollar Tree Angel still going strong after 20 something years.
Get ready for the cheese.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Water Polo Weekend

Balls had a H2O tourny this weekend. They played 5 games in 24 hrs. There is no way that I could swim for that long! Who are we kidding I can't really even "swim". We were at the pool from 7-7 on saturday...I was asleep by 8:30...it's exhausting being such an enthusiastic spectator.

The Dream Team.
These lovely ladies volunteered to stay an extra game and play on the boys team. Yikes.

Boys.

Molly was even in the paper but I'm not smart enough to figure out how to copy it on to here.
She clearly gets her athleticism from me.

Headboard

A LONG time ago I bought this old door for a buck with dreams of turning it into a headboard....

Matt surprised me with THIS for my b-day!! The pic isn't the best...someday when my room is finished I will post some great ones. I also won a giveaway on my friend Anne's blog Bloom for this and I am so stinking excited.

Water Polo Has Begun...

WE LOVE H2O POLO YES WE DO!
WE LOVE H2O POLO HOW BOUT YOU?!

The season has officially begun which means: Fall is hear. Matt goes back to school soon. Football becomes an obsession. We never eat dinner at a normal time. I have no life.

Good news is we LOVE watching Molly play sports and we love to travel all around with her.

This is Molls Balls being big boss molls balls. I'm pretty sure she's yelling.

Among other news I am now a nanny. This means in the last two weeks I have: Dug for worms. Gone fishing. Had my boobs squeezed. Been spit on. Handled a gross large whole chicken. Been told I need to carry a barf bag in the car. Do these people even know me?! Clearly not.

McDonalds It Is

Rachel. This is great. This story pretty much sums me up in a nutshell.

So. Here it goes. Don't judge me, I was starving.

We were driving back from Eugene a few weeks ago and it was time for dinner. If I don't eat on time I turn into Jessie, the horrid beast. Which equals being extremely picky and indecisive and irrational. I had it in my mind I wanted a McChicken. If you've never had one you should. Luckily McDs was just up the road.

We stop in Cottage Grove, hit up McDs, go inside because I have to pee. This is mistake number one. McDonalds is always more appealing when you go through the drive thru. Faster. Less mistakes. You don't see anyone or anything. Get your food and go. This McDonalds just happened to be quite fancy. I had high hopes. It had legit ice cream in a rad ice cream freezer. I was waiting for Matt and Molly...the good news about being a frequent pee-er is that you become quite speedy...I decide to scope out the ice cream. GASP! A dead fly is frozen into the rainbow sherbet. I turn to make sure I tell everyone in line about the indecency of it all. I wait patiently for the worker to come ask if I knew what I wanted. And this is what proceeded.

Sassy Boy: What can I get for you today?
Sassy Jessie: Well I'm not sure but did you know there is a disgusting dead fly in the ice cream?
Sassy Boy: Hmm. Okay.
Gets a spoon scoops out the fly, puts the ice cream back
Sassy Jessie: You aren't seriously going to put that nasty ice cream back in there for everyone to eat are you?
Sassy Boy: I guess
Sassy Jessie: What do you mean you guess? That's disgusting. You can't serve food that has dead flies in it.

Sassy boy rolls his eyes and walks away. Goes to the back where the "cooks" are starts talking to them...they all stare at me...they all laugh at me. By this time Matt and Molly are back and embarrassed. Matt tells me to just order my food. I tell him now I can't because the "cooks" are laughing at me which means they were going to taint my food in some way like I used to do when I worked at McDs and people sassed me. Extra mayo? I'll give you extra mayo. I get to the front of the line again. I tell the dear boy in training I need to speak to the manager. He says ok.

Out comes Sassy Boy.

Sassy Irrational Starving Beast Jessie who just wanted a McChicken: YOU are the manager? Seriously? Who else can I talk to? You clearly haven't been trained because that was disgusting.

Out walks Ash. Ash with her awesome gold shimmer eye shadow. And asks what's wrong. I tell her about the disgusting fly, how he put the ice cream back and how they were all at the very moment staring at me and laughing.

Sassy Ash: Well I am the assistant manager and I will make sure that I talk to him about this later but I can't do it now. Do you know what you want?
Sassy Jessie: I can't order anything now...the cooks are all laughing at me. They are going to spit in my food. I want the number to your actual manager.
Sassy Ash: I'm the assistant manager and I'm sure they aren't laughing at you and I will make sure they don't spit in your food.
Sassy Jessie: I know you are the assistant manager I want to talk to somebody who knows what they are doing and hey are laughing at me, I'm watching them right now.
Sassy Ash: I am not about to accuse somebody of something I know nothing about.
Sassy Jessie: It's not accusing. I'm watching them. I want the number of someone I can talk to. This is the worst McDonalds I have ever been to.

Matt and Molly leave. Heads held low in shame.

Sassy Ash continues to tell me how she will reprimand them later but she wouldn't accuse them of doing something when she couldn't see it. I told her to just give me the number and stop talking to me about it. She keeps interrupting telling me that she won't accuse anyone of anything over and over. I ask her to please stop interrupting me and just give me the number. She keeps interrupting me as I'm asking her to please stop interrupting me. I yell at her "YOU ARE INTERRUPTING ME RIGHT NOW" She then says "Well now I am REFUSING service to you" I tell her I don't want her service, that's the point Ash. I want the phone number and I want to leave. She gives me the number. I leave. Starving. Annoyed. Laughing out loud.

And that's that.

Helllooooo Out There

Before I go on a rant about how long it's been since I've posted lets all take a moment to honor Molly's hotness. Seriously. If I could chop off her hair and glue it on mine I'd do it in a heartbeat.

All right. Times up.
So the three people who actually read my blog have been pestering me for months...yikes...months to update my blog. I thought I had given up on my blog, I really did. Work is busy. Life is busy. I have things to sew. Our internet is pretty unreliable. I post all my pictures on facebook anyways. I have no energy for creative writing. BUT one thing made me change my mind... (interruption...i just got a text from my husband saying "update your blog" alright already...i'm doing it!)... the thing that made me change my mind? Albertson's is NOT my hero anymore. I have had quite the run in with the coupons at that place and have embarrassed all my friends and family by yelling at the check out boys & girls about the price on my Quaker Oat Squares and now remember why I used to refuse service to them. Speaking of refusing service...I was refused service at McDonalds just the other day but that is another story for another time.

I just don't know where to begin.

We have been busy. Matt is going to school full time. Two years left and he will be DONE. I can hardly wait. I would like to stay home and tan and have babies and make crafts and go on lunch dates. Sounds dreamy right? I know.

I suppose I will start with Matt's birthday.

I planned a surprise birthday scavenger hunt...thanks to Marg and her rad ideas...up in p-town. Part of it was because I love my darling and wanted him to have a fun and exciting birthday doing things we are too boring to usually do, and part of it was because I was being selfish and wanted to go to Washington Square Mall and Ikea. My birthday bash idea killed two birds with one stone(which by the way is a pretty gross thing if you think about it. yuck.)

I gave Matt clues such as "Where Swedes go to shop"-Ikea

While we were there we bought this

For my sewing room...but it wasn't bright enough so we put it in Moll's reading corner in her room and sometimes I'm so jealous that it's not in my room I go sit under it just to admire it's cuteness.

Then we went to where St. Nick goes for lunch-Nicholas' Lebanese food...yikes. I really tried to like it but it was a stretch. The only thing that saved me from barfing was the gigantic pita bread.

We did other silly things like getting ice cream cones and going to Nike Town and going to Desseret book. But the raddest part of all was going bouldering. I was trying to be adventurous but it was quite the disaster.

This is me...an inch off the floor...hanging on for dear life.

This is Matt...almost upside down...rockin it like always.

Our arms felt like jello.

Then we went shopping and to Cheesecake Factory and ate until we thought we would explode. The next day we had a BBQ with the whole fam dam.

And that's all she wrote.
