Christmas at the Lakes

We started off our Christmas extravaganza with a trip to the good ol gilbert center to go bowling. Anyone who lives in Eugene can appreciate that coolness of the gilbert center! We had a blast bowling away except that the kids were going crazy, Kenna barfed and I hurt my back. Fun times fun times!

Don't mind Autzen's hand...

Rob and Matt...hmmm

Our great Chinese dinner...I felt like Ralph from a Christmas Story

After dinner Rob and Kim made us play this game...Poor Pussy...What? You've never heard of that game before? Oh...you didn't know Mormons played games with those sorts of titles. I guess Utah Mormons do :) Actually it was really fun. Someone gets blindfolded and has to go up and rub their head against someone's leg and say "meow" then the person has to pat their head and say "poor pussy" trying to disguise their voice. If you guess who it was then they are the cat if you guess wrong you have to keep going around the circle. Very histerical. And a little weird. Matt and I have been practicing our best voices for days now.

Leslie's Quilt

I've been so excited to blog about this quilt since I started making it but I never could because Leslie( Matt's mom) reads my blog! Now I realize I should have been keeping a note book of all I wanted to say about it along the way because I can't remember any of it! I'm not quite sure when I will get around to quilting again. It takes me a VERY long time apparently to make a quilt and a lot of patience that I sometimes lacked! Anyways it's done. YAY! And I'm pretty proud that I figured it out all on my own.

I also just wanted to document Matt's awesome wrapping skills. He's quite thrifty and creative:)

Merry Christmas!!

So can I please just tell you how much I love Christmas? We spent Christmas up in Eugene this year with Matt's whole fam...I love big Christmas parties! Matt had to work the day before Christmas so we couldn't get up their until Wednesday night and then he has to work today so we had to leave right before Christmas dinner! Luckily we get to go back up there tonight and spend the weekend...family pictures tomorrow(thanks to Margaret!)

Here are some pictures of the big day

My new kicks...pretty rad huh?

Matt's new kicks...he now has two pair since I bought him the white ones and my grandma bought him the black ones. Oh well

Molly got her IPOD!! Woohoo!

Matt's mom opening her quilt! That dang quilt has a lot of blood, sweat, and tears on it...literally

This is my look of joy that I actually finished it on time!

Molly got Matt this rad sweatshirt

Merry Christmas!

Upon Further Review

Matt is really very overly obsessed with checking my blog...he claims that it is because he wants to see what I wrote about it but I know the truth. He checks it..Oh my gosh he's doing it as I type I can't even finish my stinking sentence...as I was saying he checks it to make sure I haven't made any gramatical mistakes.
First of all I meant to say lose not loose in the last post.
I also should have said "it has been brought to my attention" not "called"

And since I have been typing this post he has corrected me, maybe 10 times, and made himself cry by laughing at me so hard. This is why I insist he leave the room anytime I am writing anything :)

His next request is that I end the post by saying how much I love him and that Sara would never write a post like this about Spence.

I really do love him though and think he is just the greatest. Who would laugh at me so much if it wasn't for him? He really thinks I'm quite funny.

Oh no know he's sad. I hurt his feelings. I love you babe! Don't cry, dry, your eye...sorry sorry no comma after dry:)

He really is my favorite

Thanksgiving a Month Late

It has been called to my attention by an un-named friend that I am really sucking it up on my blog lately. It's not as if I have stopped stalking all of yours, I just have been neglecting mine. Everyday I check to see if anyone has posted anything new and when they haven't I get all bent out of shape about it and mumble to myself something to the effect of "What's the point of having a blog if you're not going to update it?"...blah blah blah. So here is the post I've been saving up since Thanksgiving. We were lucky enough to get back in town from Boise to get to go to Eugene for Thanksgiving(I was really worried about having to have Thanksgiving alone). It was lots of fun, filled with lots of food, and lots and lots of shopping. On Friday Matt's mom took us to the mall for Matt to look at work clothes(yes that's right Matt finally has a REAL job)...anyways she took us because I loose my patience too quickly in situations like that. This is what usually happens
Me: Babe that shirt looks so cute on you, you look great
Matt: (turning in front of the mirror constantly to get a good look from every angle) Really? Do you like it? Do I look ok?
Me: Yes babe, seriously I love it, you should totally get it
Matt:(still standing there) Hmmm...I think I like it. Are you sure you like it?
Me: Yep I'm still sure
Matt: Hmmm..(takes it off thinks about it puts it back on with pants, shoes, belt the whole stinking outfit) Okay seriously you like this shirt?
Me: Nope I don't you look totally gross don't get it...seriously how many times are you going to ask me that...do you want me not to like it or something?
Matt: Just checking
Then he will get the shirt...I will be exhausted from all my hard work and in need of some kind of food and then 20 minutes later he will ask again if I'm REALLY sure I like it.
This is why I like good ol Leslie to come along. She is great at pretending like Matt has never asked her the question before and gives him constant reassurance with no sarcasm or hint of irritation. They can stay in the dressing room for hours with no need of a treat. She is essential when shopping with Matt!
We really did have a great time though and I just love the Holidays!! I'm sad that now they are almost over.

Isn't she so stinkin cute? I just think she's so cute!

Here is Matt resting after a hard day of Turkey Bowl...he dreams about Turkey Bowl all year long...and loves to brag about his skills when he comes home

This is Matt driving his dad crazy by eating all the Turkey he is trying to carve for dinner

We just love them and think they are the best

I feel like when I die I will have all her thick beautiful hair and then we can actually be sisters

Happy Turkey Day!

Grandma Lake...she kept asking me what I was doing and why I was taking pictures of her!

Autzen was not a fan of having his pants pulled down...he asked Matt to please not pull his pants down anymore

Call Us Crazy

I'm begining to wonder if we will ever get settled. My dad always says that Matt and I move around too much...which I always argue, saying that we really don't move THAT much. After this weekend I'm going to have to side with my dad and say we are nuts, and I feel like a gypsy. We moved BACK to Ashland yesterday and we are STAYING here until Molly graduates from high school! Now that that's in writing it is basically unchangable...right?
Just for fun...In the past two in a half years since we've been married Matt and I have moved
1. to Ephraim Utah
2. Ephraim to apt in Ashland Oregon
3. apt in Ashland to student housing
4. Student housing to our first house in Talent
5. Talent to El Paso Texas
6. El Paso Texas to Laredo Texas
7. Laredo back to Talent
8. Talent to Boise Idaho
9. Boise back to Ashland

And now since someone already rented our house for the year we are looking for a place to rent, in the meantime we are living with our sweet friends, the Abel's. They have been so nice to let us crash their guest room. Matt and I have a nice big room with our couch and bed and a big bathroom. And Molly is sharing with their daughter.

Hopefully now that we have internet I can post some pictures up of all our adventures the past few weeks!

Hiding Out In My Car

So I am sitting in my car hiding out infront of a MoxieJava stealing their internet for a few shorts minutes so I can check my email, look for jobs, and UPDATE my blog. I'm feeling like a detective out here. Hopefully when we aren't so poor and Matt and I have jobs(or even just one of us)we will get internet and I won't have to drive around town looking for a signal. We got all moved in last week and we LOVE it here. Molly is taking her sweet little time adjusting and as a result has been VERY moody...that's to be expected right?? Sure sure. One of these days I will put some pictures on here of our cute new house. We just love it.

Utah/Idaho Trip

Matt and I just got back from our week long trip to Idaho to find a new house and Utah for Matt's work party. We started the week off with a football game at Oregon State...Go Beavs! Our friend Devin plays for Washington State so we met up with his fam and watched the game.

Me, Darlene and Kristin. I want to move back to Ephraim! Darlene makes the best Navajo Tacos EVER...it requires a deep fryer...true Utahns have a deep fryer in there home!

Matt and Devin...those poor boys spent many hours at the University Mall in Provo while Kristin and I tricked each other into buying all sorts of things. Maybe it's good we left Ephraim...

Our new house! It's very very cute and in the cutest little neighborhood. There is even a gym so I don't have to pay for one anymore...woohoo! I am getting a little unexcited about packing. Lame.

Okay so last year Jessica and I decided to make caramel apples. It was a disaster. The caramel just slid right off the apple making a big gooey mess. They seriously looked like poison caramel apples! This year we decided to perfect our craft and spent a little more time researching how you actually make them. We thought we were doing great. The caramel was sticking and looking shiny and delicious...and a little bit sticky!

Then we tried our luck and decided to dip them in white chocolate and cinnamon and sugar...bad idea. The old lady, poison apples were back! At least they tasted good...right? Next year we are going to be pros and sell them somewhere.

Then we headed up to Utah...spent the night with Rob and Kim, had some Costa Vida and went to Matt's work party. We were sure we were going to win something big. One kid won 60 grand in cash, two other people won new cars, and Matt and I?? Oh well we won little backpack gym bags AND IPOD decks(those could have been cool except I lost both mine and Matt's IPODs at the gym now they are history)...lame, lame, lame. There were so many people there we didn't even wait in line to claim our prize.

Molly Mormon Strikes Again

Okay so ever since I got my sewing machine I have this uncontrollable itch to be crafty. On our recent trip to Utah/Idaho Jessica and I were craft stealers and totally copied some idea's for hair bows off dana-made-it.blogspot.com. So stinkin cute! Up next...a quilt.

Fright Night Update

I'm going to go ahead and let this little video speak for itself...I am going to save it forever though so Molly remembers how weird she was!

Fright Night

Matt and I told Molly she had to wait to have her birthday party until Matt came home so she decided to have a Halloween fright night party. First of all I do not like fright nor do I like night and I most certainly do not like the two of them together. But since I am trying to be the best momsister I can be I oblige to her every wish(ha)and do exactly as she asks of me. Matt loves scary movies, and hates to be left out even if he doesn't like the movie, but mostly he doesn't like boys in our house especially when he isn't an arms length away. So needless to say I am sitting alone in my bedroom trying to drown out the sound of screams in the background by doing a little blogging.

These are all the kids loving me for taking multiple pictures until I am satisfied and leave the room...can't you just see the love

Apparently scary movies make you break a sweat

"People saw we're hot"

Boogers on a stick

The most complicated brownies I have ever made...I forgot(or maybe I never did it) that teenagers are afraid to eat in front of each other. They came to my house nice and sweaty from all their sports, no food since lunch and none of them will eat! We have so much stinkin food it is ridiculous and none of them will take a freakin bite. Give me a break!

Day old bath water with worms...mmmm

Kitty litter birthday cake...we love ya Molls!

I am certainly not looking forward to throwing all my money, ooops I meant food, away in the morning because it is old and gross from not being eaten all night. Maybe this will teach me to keep it simple. I could have given them corn dogs and they would have been fine. But oh no...I stress, plan, re-plan, make a billion lists, go to every store in the rouge valley looking for a cauldron, spend all day making things "just so" and hello I AM THE ONLY PERSON WHO CARES! When will I ever learn? Oh well I just love it and I would be going crazy if I tried to do it any other way.

On a side note...Our house is for rent!! Ahh...can you believe it?! We are moving AGAIN!

Hello Molly Mormon!

Okay so my dear sweet Grandma was horrified to see the aftermath of my terrible sewing mishap earlier this year. She told me "that sewing machine is just too old and simply won't do". "Yes, yes I know" I told her "but I just can't spend money on a sewing machine, especially since I don't really sew, and I have one that works fine as long as I don't drop it and cause permanent nerve damage to my foot". So she did what Grandma's do best and she went out and bought me the best little sewing machine she could find. It does all sorts of neat little things. Don't anyone be surprised if they get little quilted nic nacs for Christmas this year. I have my first sewing class on Friday...they will be teaching me all sorts of necessesities such as turning it on, threading the needle, putting the pieces together...all that jazz.

Welcome Home!

Since we bought our house from my dad before it was really on the market or anything we never got around to putting grass in the backyard. It had never been a problem before...sure we would get little weeds here and there but nothing to freak out over. We would just whip out our handy dandy weeding kit that my Grandma bought us for Christmas and pull those bad boys out. WELL...when Molly and I got home this summer the little weeds had turned into a jungle that was taller than our fence and so thick you couldn't walk through it. The renters never told us about any weeds so we never thought to ask...big mistake. Matt has been out there going to town with his machete.

What a handy man to have around.
