Summer
I WISH that my camera had not been dead this whole weekend and that I was not so lazy that I kept thinking "oh I'll do it later". First of all it was a beautiful weekend. Hot. Not a cloud in the sky. We did all our housework with the windows open, music on, it was grand. After the house was in tip top shape we moved to the front yard to weed. Never-ending chore around here. When we finished soaking up the rays(mostly Matt stole all the rays...he's the only one that got sunburned and boy is he red) we went to medford to get our FREE Cherry Limeades. Just writing about them makes me want one. They are the BEST! For reals. Sunday after church we went with some friends on an adventure drive. The drive was the worst. Like seriously, constant turns and like an inch "shoulder" and then a HUGE cliff. Matt thinks its funny...I do not. My bum gets all tingly and I can't breath so good when I look over the edge. I can hardly write about it without getting the butt shivers. Anyways. We finally found a great lake. Walked around. Found some camp sights and a waterfall. Soaked up the beauty and then made our trek back home. It was a perfect Sunday. I am going to charge the camera. TODAY. I hate not having pictures for my posts!

Pear Blossom 2009
After much anticipation Pear Blossom day finally came. We got a late start on our training this year because we weren't really sure we were even going to do it, which turned into no training really...a couple of 5milers a few weeks ago but nothing close to what we were doing last year. I had to pray hard that I wouldn't be sick on Saturday(I have been sick EVERY night since the poop fries)...what a surprise I slept through the night and woke up feeling great! Before the race Matt was prepping me "If I talk to you just listen, think about your tone, don't get mad..." Then I said " Well then what will I have to blog about?"
Really and truly the run went 10,000 times better than last year. We had a great pace until mile 7ish when I got a pinched nerve in my leg...but I kept on "running". We didn't walk once this year! I learned my lesson last year. About mile 8 Matt asked if I was okay. I don't know why but when people ask me that, and I'm not really okay I just burst into tears. So I burst into tears but kept running. I think because I was trying not to cry I started to hyperventilate...never happened to me before and I freaked out. The police guy asked if I needed help. Then all of a sudden I snapped out of it. Stopped crying, said "NO" and took off running. Mile 9 was the worst...my leg was so pinched that I could hardly bend it...but we did it. We finished in 1hr 49 min. I am confident that we would have finished much faster if it wasn't for my dang leg. Next year.
I am amazed really at how well we did. I had been running twice in the last 3 weeks and they were not pretty! I was really nervous. We have been doing the BFL 20 min runs the past few months and I felt certain that those were not going to help us. We needed to be doing longer runs. BUT, I felt so much better this year. I guess those runs really did help. I kept thinking about the scripture that says something about...run and not be weary. I kept praying "please help me run and not be weary" and it worked! Aside from my leg the run was, dare I say? Easy. That means I'm sure that I need to pick up the pace for next year...no more getting passed on mile 3 by the lead runners!
At mile 6 I was like wow...I'm not even tired...only 4 miles to go. It really helped that I listened to the Office on my IPOD. So funny I was cracking up.
After the race was a different story. I was sick the whole rest of the day! Really sick, I will spare you the details this time, but lets just say the outhouses at the parade were my best friend. But at least I made it through the race.

We got a free BBQ lunch for running. I gave my food to Matt and went to Taco Bell instead.
Our friends came to watch the parade with us. I had to stay in the car. I couldn't move. Don't I look thrilled?

Pear Blossom...Remember This?
Here we go again. Saturday is the big day...wish us luck. A lot of luck. Updates to come(If I survive)
So Matt and I decided to run the Pear Blossom 10 Mile Run this year(actually I decided and made Matt do it with me). We got back from Utah Friday night, just in time for our run Saturaday morning. I have to say I was pretty un motivated to do it but since we left Utah early just to run it I thought I probably should suck it up and do it. Matt would probably have a different perspective on things(and much funnier stories) but I think overall it went very well...it took us 1hr 53min. Our goal was to finish before two hours. We were very slow in comparison(which our greatest friend Bryan so kindly pointed out) and were behind an old, out of shape lady that shuffled her feet for the entire run. Matt kept saying come on babe she is NOT going to beat us and I kept saying stop talking to me and she is going to beat us so just don't make it worse. Here's a little taste of the last two miles
Matt: Come on babe
Me: Please stop saying that...please just don't talk to me you are making it worse
Matt: Come on you can do it babe we are almost there
Me: I said PLEASE don't talk to me...this sucks...my feet hurt and I want to be done
Matt: Oh come on babe don't quit you can do it
Me: Stop talking to me...I'm not going to quit what are you talking about....just stop talking
Matt: I know but you can do it
Me: I know I can do it that's what I'm doing just stop talking
Matt: If you want me to stop talking why do you keep responding?
Me: Are you kidding? Just stop.
On and on for two miles...then I was grouchy until we got home and I got some food. Then for the next two days my knees hurt so bad I could hardly move. And we are so pumped to do it again next year!!!!

Dazed and Confused
For some reason these pictures crack me up. Seriously. Matt kept making that face whenever I would try and take a picture of him. Hilarious.

Spring Break Part Dos
For part two of our spring break extravaganza we went to Newport with Matt's fam and stayed together at a nice beach house. Here's some pics to demonstrate all the raddness.

The brochure said "easy beach access"...if by easy they meant you would have to go on a 20 minute hike through the forest of FORKS, overlooking some cliffs, then yes it was an "easy beach access"
Matt and Molls taking a stroll
Molly did not approve of mine and Matt's beach fashion...what's there not to approve of?

Spring Break Part Uno
We had a super rad spring break up in Eugene this year. Matt had the week off, Molls had two weeks off due to budget cuts and I was done with school....so we decided to head up to Eugene and go over to the coast. Our super rad friends Matt and Cam and their kiddos came for a couple of days to join us all the way from B-town, Boise that is. We decided to give them the true Oregon experience and took them to Florence for a day filled with Mo's, wind, rain, rain and more rain. Poor Cam brought her flip flops along...she thought we were going to a normal beach. You know like the ones in the movies. I should have instructed her to bring galoshes. Despite the weather they got to see many things from the car: the ocean, old town, you know the way the coast is meant to be seen. I learned a thing or two from our little trip. First of all I don't really like Mo's...I like the idea of Mo's, but I do not actually like Mo's. Second of all don't ever make plans or invite people from out of town to join you at the coast assuming that you will have good weather, because inevitably you won't. And third, 11 buckaroos is far too expensive to see the stinking sea lions in the stinking(literally) sea lion caves.

Here's Matt and Cam picking out salt water taffy from the endless wall of salt water taffy
Here's Molls looking so thrilled to be joining us on our adventure...don't you see it? Thrilled.
This is what happens when it's your free day in an ice cream parlor...watch out.

Anne with an E...this one's for you
Uh yum. That's all I can say. Who can look at this wonderfully grey tuna casserole and not want to stuff their face right in? No one I tell ya. Matt's new great eating plan eliminates most of my go to meals so I decided I needed to branch out and try some things in the Body For Life cookbook other than grilled chicken or enchiladas. That brings us to tuna casserole. I thought I could do it. I thought I could like it. The first few bites were optimistic. But in the end our gag reflexes were in full swing and nobody opted for seconds. Sad day. I can officially cross of tuna casserole off my dinner ideas list.
