When we first moved to Ashland I shopped at Albertsons. I didn't know I had choices. Albertsons was close, it was friendly, and it was EXPENSIVE. After a couple of years of wondering why my grocery bill was over 100 dollars a week for 3 people I starting looking around at my options. Ashland is small. Ashland is not into chain stores. Ashland likes to be organic. My only choice was to move onto Medford-where I found WINCO. WINCO was my saving grace, it chopped my bill down by more than half. Who knew that little old me would turn into a price watcher, that's what marriage does to you I suppose...Matt has been thanking his lucky stars. The point of all of this rambling is that I never even step foot inside Albertsons unless I am getting a Red Box. Well on Wednesday night I rushed into the forbidden food palace to pick up some hot cocoa for young womens. I just happened to pass the cereal isle on my way out and right before my very eyes they were having a SALE on CEREAL. Its unheard of. My fav cereal in all the world was on sale. It's NEVER on sale...even at WINCO its 5 bucks for a teensy box. I bought 30 boxes of cereal and only spent 30 dollars. Its amazing really. Needless to say I have a raging stomach ache because I have been eating nothing but huge mounds of oatmeal squares for days now.

I'm almost exactly the same as you--I go into WinCo 40 minutes away just to save money. But I saw that Albertson's ad and I, too, bought tons! Well, not as much as you, but I bought 5 boxes of Life, and 5 boxes of instant oatmeal. Gotta love the sales!
We have a shelf full of that too. Amen to cheap food!

I only shop Albertsons if something is on sale or if I need one item and don't have time to run to Winco. It's SO expensive. Overally, Winco is way better.
