Sewing 101

So tonight I had this great idea that I could just sew myself a duvet cover for our new appartment. I wanted it to be bright and fun and I couldn't find anything that fit my idea of bright and fun. So...I went to Target and bought a top sheet and a shower curtain and decided to sew them together. I got home and dusted off my mom's 5,000 pound 5,000 year old sewing maching(no exaggeration)and was looking forward to getting to work. I told Molly to clear off the kitchen table so I could get to work. She looked at me and said:
Why? You won't be able to figure out how to do it and you'll get irritated and then leave it here for a week and all the while I could have been doing my homework.
Rude girl. She cleared off the table and I tried to get the sewing maching ready. I have NO idea how to work a sewing machine. I got irritated. BUT instead of giving up I decided it wouldn't be too hard to do by hand...four hours later I am finished. In the end I think it's totally cute(maybe too small for the bed...) and well worth the work.

You are so cute, finding joy in your Texas adventure! Way to figure out the sewing machine! I've got one in my closet that I'm a bit intimidated to try and figure out. Maybe some day I'll persevere just like you!!
