My life is full of learning moments as of late...how to shower properly at the gym, how to move 10 times a year and not go insane and my lastest conquest-how to ride the city bus!!! I was very nervous, as you can well imagine, about how in the world you ride the city bus. When the bus pulled up I started to get on. That was my first mistake, you apparently have to left the people OFF the bus before you get ON. When I finially did get on I asked if the bus went to Talent. He said yes and then told me to just sit down and I could pay when I got off(probably because I was on the phone with Jessica, chatting away while searching through each of my 3 bags to try to find money). I felt like a dummy-everyone on the bus seemed to be staring at me and saying what a dumb girl who doesn't know how to ride a bus. Just as I was settling in and feeling like I had the hang of things the bus driver came up to me and said "To the back of the bus" and then cackled. Apparently I was sitting in a handicap spot and a lady in a wheel chair was trying to get on. Jessica said it was very Rosa Parks of me, I agreed. The back of the bus is where the rif raff sit. It smells back there. One boy was making dread locks in his hair.
I wasn't sure where to get off the bus, I saw what I thought was my bus stop pass, sad day so I pulled the yellow pully and waited for the next stop. The bus driver stoped at the stop sign and said I could just get off. Now I am confused. Can I pull the pully everytime at the stop sign and get off? Because that would really be the most convinient, or did he just do that because he knew I was the dumb girl that didn't know how to ride the bus OR pull the pully at the right time? Well I went to pay and asked him how much....Oh two dollars he says. I'm shocked, I thought it was like a quarter, so I search my bag again. Oh how much do you have in your hand he asks. One dollar. Oh thats fine thats fine. Well is it a dollar or two or however much I feel like dropping in the slot???

First Time For Everything
Alright here's a doozy.
Our renters were supposed to be out of our house a couple of weeks ago, but they aren't gone yet so we are staying at Hotel Bluth in Medford. It's not really a hotel it just feels like one. Great tv, great food, fancy bedspreads. You get the picture. Since Molls and I go to school in Ashland and our gym is in Ashland I had to pack my stuff and get ready at the gym after my workout instead of going back home like we usually do. Can I just tell you how nervous and traumatized this made me??
First of all it is just one big communal shower with showers heads all over the place. Second of all the old lady swimmers had just got done with their class and were walking freely all around like there was no one else in sight. I tried to undress as inconspicuously as possible, hang my towel on the rack outside the shower, and jump in quick as lightning before the swimmers swarmed the showers. I chose the shower head right in the corner and rushed before the ladies came in. Rushed, exposed, cool showers are not my cup of tea. It all went down hill from there. People blow drying their hair with no clothes on, chatting about the weather (to me) with no clothes on, wandering around with no clothes on. I don't know if I can do it again. Very uncomfortable. Gyms should be required to have mandatory changing stalls and private showers!

I Run a Tight Ship So Be Ware
That's right you heard me. It may come as a surprise to many of you(and definitly not to others) that Britney Spears is basically my sister. I have become her new bff...fan for life. Now you are probably thinking the same thing that Matt tells me all the time about my not so new, but but newly revived britney obsession, that it's pathetic. That's okay. Go ahead and say it. I don't care though, I'm coming out of the Britney closet. I LOVE every song on her new cd, with the exeption of one not so appropriate one, but other than that I listen to the whole thing everyday. I have even been hearing her songs in the background of my dreams. Please go buy the cd and then tell me you love it too!

To Blog or Not to Blog?

First of all I really have nothing to blog about...I go to school everyday from 8-4, most of that time I don't even have class I just sit and read, I make my daily call to Jessica to catch up on any gossip I may have missed, then I make the long trek home(5 miles) unless someone sees me walking down the road, which happens quite often(we only have one car right now), I come home make dinner, eat dinner, watch hgtv, read our scriptures and go to bed. Pretty rad I know. Contain your excitement please.
Second, why do weird restaurant things ALWAYS happen to me? Am I such a jerky looking, sounding, acting person that people feel the need to be jerky back to me without even giving me a chance? Maybe I am a jerk but give me a chance to be jerky before you judge me so harshly. Seriously.
Here's how it went down...Our friend's were in a car accident on Thursday morning, they love blizzards, not the Utah kind the Dairy Queen kind, so we drove ALL the way to Medford. Okay so Medford isn't THAT far but still, I'm going for dramatics here. So we head out after Matt got off work. Neither one of us had dinner and by that time didn't really have time to make anything we decided to make a date of our DQ run and go out to dinner. Since Matt is cheap and on a diet it made our options limited. After much indecision, turning around, and missing exits we decided on Mucho Gusto, a personal fav of mine, not so high on the list for Matt. We go in, Matt gets something healthy and his food is made before I've even decided. I ask the nice boy if I could please have a kids meal quesadilla...he looks to the girl standing next to him. Now I'm not exaggerating about these next parts. She purses her lips together, rolls her eyes(like how dumb could I really be) and shakes her head no.
"really?!" I say...I've never heard of such a thing, everywhere in the world lets you order off the kids menu, even if they make you pay a little extra.
Again she just shakes her head.
"Hmm...well then can I just have like a small quesadilla then?"
"Um no we have small tortillas but we can only use them for kids meals" says girl.
"So I'm confused...you have the tortillas, you just won't let me by one? I've never heard of that before. Okay so then what CAN I buy that is small"
"Well we have quesdadillas they are just bigger, but we fold them in half so they look small...don't you get it" then she demonstrated how they fold them as if I've never seen a quesadilla...she clearly didn't know that I practically AM a quesadilla, with how much I eat them.
"Um ya but the thing is is that I don't want to pay 10 dollars for a quesadilla that I will eat half, especially if you have a way to make them smaller."
This goes on and on for some time...she starts shaking her hands at me, I ask for the manager, she IS the manager, Matt is embarrassed, he eats his tacos, I eat nothing.
We go to the car and Matt says why does this always happen to you?
I don't know I must breath snottiness or something.
Thats the end of my story...very bizarre...I get kids meals at the Mucho Gusto in Eugene every time I go and every other restaurant for that matter. I think she just didn't like me.

Biggest Loser 2009
The Lakes have officially started a competition with the Proberts(Sara Lake's fam) to see who can lose the most percentage of weight by June. My totally awesome and totally dedicated husband won this weeks weigh in. Even though I'm not technically in the competition I have been working out with Matt every morning at 5:45 a.m. TOOT TOOT...that's me tooting my horn for waking up so stinking early...and I have been following the eating plan with him as well. No matter how many times I say "Oh babe I just want Taco Bell for dinner, or Oh babe I just want Red Robin for dinner, or Oreos, or chips(I love chips) he just smiles and says nothing...he doesn't even think about budging. Then I feel guilty for tempting him and I give up. We are supposed to have a free day once a week so Saturday I stocked up on all the crap I could(I'm sure the point of a freeday is to eat like one treat or go out to dinner or something but nevermind that) I had a nice healthy breakfast, then popcorn and a LARGE sprite at the movies, then a Blizzard from DQ, then fritos and cream cheese(my fav.) then 5 pieces of pizza, with jojos, 6 oreos(which made me want to barf) and finished the day off with a huge piece of banana bread. Matt lost three pounds on our free day...I gained 2!! Oh well right?
On another subject. I started school last week at Southern Oregon University. My parents went to school here, that's where they met, back then it was called soc. I odn't think much has changed since then. I am having trouble adjusting to being back in school. Since the college is so small I feel like I'm back in high school. At ORegon State I had classes with 300 people in them...my biggest class here has maybe 30. I also got a crazy counselor who doesn't know about my schedule apparently because she put me in the wrong classes, I got a $55 parking ticket for parking in a Motorcycle only space for more than 45 minutes, which by the way was not clearly marked and I have to take philosophy. Enough said. That sums up my first week...things can only look up.

Family Pictures
Family Pictures...whoohoo. We managed to bribe my sweet friend Marg(Margaret that is) into taking our Lake family pictures. It was the first time in a long time that everyone was home for Christmas and we've never had a family picture that had the whole fam in it. Margaret was so great and patient to practice her photog skills on such a large and noisy group. THanks Margaret! They turned out great! You can toot your horn now...toot toot!

This one might be my favorite. Partly because it's unusual and kind of artsy...but moslty because Matt looks hot, my hair looks BLONDE, and Molly looks happy...what more could you ask for??
